According to Fabrizio Romano, RC Lens have submitted a bid to sign promising Barcelona centre-back Mikayil Faye (19).
Senegal U17 international Faye is yet to make his debut for Barcelona, having joined the club for a reported €1.5m in the summer from NK Kustosija. However, the centre-back has shown promise and Barcelona are determined to keep hold of Faye, despite interest.
Lens lodge loan bid with obligation to buy for Faye
Barcelona’s stance has been clear since the beginning of the transfer window that Faye is not for sale. However, Lens are hoping to change that stance. According to Italian journalist Romano, Les Sang et Or have submitted an official bid would between €8-9m. The deal is a loan with an obligation to make the move permanent come the end of the current campaign.
Lens could be looking to rebuild their defence this summer. Whilst neither Kevin Danso nor Facundo Medina are expected to depart this January, both are garnering elite-level interest and could leave at the end of the season.
