FC Union Berlin confirmed oil Thursday that their joint misunderstanding with Polish winger Pawel Wszolek had come to an end.

One of 1. FC Union Berlin’s coveted 2021 signings is officially headed back to his former club Legia Warsaw having made just one professional appearance for die Eisrernen. Thirty-year-old winger Pawel Wszolek made just one relief appearance for Union in the second round of the 2021/22 Pokal last year.
Wszolek only made head-coach Urs Fischer’s matchday squad twice last autumn before being loaned out to Legia last January. At present there is no information available as to whether Union were able to collect a transfer fee for the player they once signed on a free. A statement by FCU sporting director Oliver Ruhenert seemed to suggest that the separation with the Polish international was clean.
“Despite a situation that was certainly unacceptable for him, Pawel and always put himself at the service of the team,” Rupert’s statement noted, “We are very grateful for his professional attitude and wish him every success for the future.”
Viel Erfolg und alles Gute bei Legia, Pawel! 🤝#fcunionhttps://t.co/BkCQP6dvEY
