Brighton in talks with Leicester over surprise move for £30m-rated Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall

Brighton & Hove Albion are reportedly pursuing a surprise move for Leicester City star Kiernan Dewsbury Hall before the end of the January transfer window.

The 25-year-old has played a key role in helping the Foxes to the summit of the Championship table.

He has featured in 27 league games, registering nine goals and nine assists in the process.

His impressive displays in the English second-tier haven’t gone unnoticed, with several Premier League clubs now keen on him.

According to The Athletic’s David Ornstein, Brighton are currently negotiating with Leicester over a permanent transfer for the talented midfielder.

The East Midlands outfit are reportedly demanding an incredible £30 million to sanction a departure in January.

But that valuation is unlikely to be met by the Seagulls, who are keen to sign the 25-year-old but only at a price they deem acceptable.

Brentford are also eyeing a move for the English footballer, but Brighton are said to be leading the race now.

Dewsbury-Hall, who has a contract at King Power Stadium until 2027, is one of the finest talents to have emerged from the Foxes’ academy.

He has made 111 appearances in all competitions for the Midlands side, with 14 goals and 14 assists to his name.

Roberto De Zerbi’s side have had an excellent 2023-24 campaign, collecting 32 points from 21 games to be seventh in the Premier League table.

But the Italian boss wants to reinforce the squad to continue their impressive performances during the second-half of the campaign.

They signed Valentin Barco from Boca Juniors earlier this month for a fee around £8m.

But they also want to add Dewsbury-Hall, who is also being admired by Arsenal and Fulham.
