Man United come to decision on pursuit of Real Madrid legend Karim Benzema

Premier League giants Manchester United have come to the decision not to move ahead with a move for Karim Benzema.

That’s according to Diario Sport, citing English sources, who have late this evening provided a fresh insight into hitman Benzema’s situation.

It is of course common knowledge that the Frenchman – just half a year on from leaving Real Madrid and European football behind for the riches of Saudi Arabia – has set his sights on a swift Al-Ittihad departure.

Benzema recently refused to report back for training with the rest of Marcelo Gallardo’s squad, as he actively pursues a return to Europe.

In turn, a host of clubs have been tipped as potential landing spots, from Chelsea to Arsenal to French giants Olympique Lyonnais.

Real Madrid, for their part, have already ruled themselves out of the running for a January reunion.

And, if the latest word stemming from the media on Thursday is anything to go by, another of Benzema’s rumoured destinations has now been taken out of the equation, too.

This comes amid confirmation that Manchester United have come to the definitive decision not to move ahead with a move for the 36-year-old.

Benzema’s exorbitant wage demands are cited as the chief reason behind the Red Devils’ call.
