Lamine Yamal the target of vile racist comments after Barcelona’s Copa exit

Barcelona starlet Lamine Yamal has been subjected to a disgusting torrent of online abuse, on the back of his latest showing in Blaugrana colours.

Barca, of course, were sent packing from the Copa del Rey late last night, after an extra-time defeat at the hands of Athletic Club.

Youngster Yamal, meanwhile, was afforded his latest start, before getting on the scoresheet in spectacular fashion late in the first-half.

Following the interval, however, the Spanish international – still just 16 – was also responsible for missing a pair of gilt-edged goalscoring opportunities, which ultimately proved costly en route to a 4-2 loss.

Taking to social media post-match, Yamal was in turn quick to issue a heartfelt apology to the Barcelona faithful.

Safe to say, however, that his message has since not been met with the most appropriate of responses, on the part of one particular section of Wednesday’s viewers.

As showcased below, the gifted winger has today been subjected to a whole host of vile racist insults, across the comments of his social media accounts:

It of course goes without saying that such behaviour has absolutely no place in football.
