SC Freiburg confirmed a contract extension for their leading scorer and vice-captain on Thursday evening.

One of the undeniable beating hearts of Europa-league-bound SC Freiburg has signed a new deal beyond his previous through-2024 contract. Pforzheim-born International Vincenzo Grifo, in his second tour with the Breisgauer, has always enjoyed his greatest professional success in the southern BaWü city.
The scorer of 20 goals for club between 2015 and 2017 returned on loan with Freiburg for the 2019/20 campaign. Grifo signed permanently shortly thereafter.The 29-year-old former Borussia Mönchengladbach and TSG 1899 Hoffenheim professional has now scored 42 goals across all competitions for the his current Bundesliga club. He led the team with 19 scorer points last season.
“I feel incredibly comfortable in Freiburg,” the set-piece wizard and cult figure in some German footballing circles noted in a statement, “and myself and my family have found a new home here. We’re also on a really good path professionally and I want to do my part to help us further along.”
