The full-frontal push of Gio Reyna’s representation move the 21-year-old away from Borussia Dortmund is likely to result in a sale by the end of the week, according to Germany’s main sporting tabloid. The Bundesrepublik’s main “Boulevard-Blatt” claims that Dortmund are prepared to sell the oft-injured talent outright. Whereas in the summer Dortmund were said to be seeking some €20 million for Reyna, the latest reports suggest that €15 million or less is the current asking price. At present, it cannot be determined which of the many clubs the player has been offered to will bite.

Reyna still maintains an estimated market worth of €20 million in the transfermakt listings. This is nevertheless well below Gio’s peak of €42 million in December of 2021. The current competitive situation in Edin Terzic’s BVB leave Reyna with little prospects for playing time. Club sporting director Sebastian Kehl and the BVB administrative team have admitted that a departure is likely. A loan deal might prove too complex as Dortmund would likely have to find a way of splitting Reyna’s salary with the loan club.
