Bayern Munich remain on the hunt for a new right-back, with Paris Saint-Germain’s Nordi Mukiele reportedly their preferred option.
However, the Bavarians have yet to make a breakthrough in negotiations with PSG, with the two clubs still haggling over details.
Now, Kicker have revealed some interesting new information about the former RB Leipzig defender, claiming that Mukiele was previously close to joining AC Milan, but the deal fell through after he failed his medical.
Why exactly Mukiele didn’t pass the medical is unclear, but the German football magazine speculates that there could be a problem with the 26-year-old again should Bayern and PSG reach an agreement on a transfer.
Newcastle United’s Kieran Trippier is said to be Bayern’s alternative to Mukiele, but it’s doubtful the English Premier League side can be persuaded to let him go this month.
