Bayern Munich will sit down with Serge Gnabry and his representatives when he returns to the club to discuss the German’s future, according to Sport1.
The German international’s current contract with Bayern is due to expire next summer and for several months, both parties have been in discussions but fundamentally disagreed on wage demands.
Bayern have since made Gnabry an offer that they deem is suitable and meets the 26-year-old’s salary demands of more than €15m a year.
As a result of interest from Manchester United and Chelsea and with Bayern desperate for Gnabry not to leave, especially on a free transfer next summer, they are now willing to meet the player’s demands.
In reality, a contract extension works well for both parties in the end. If an agreement wasn’t met, the Germany international could spend the season in the stands with a World Cup just around the corner.
As for Bayern, if Gnabry was consigned to the stands and they lost, there would be an outcry among the Bayern fans.
However, it appears that there will be a resolution after all leaving both club and player to focus on the season ahead.
