Second division side 1. FC Nürnberg confirmed a short-term contract for Swedish striker Sebastian Andersson on Tuesday evening.

Following a successful trial period, Sebastian Andersson will received a professional contract with 1. FC Nürnberg for the duration of the season. The Middle Franconians confirmed this news on Tuesday evening. The 32-year-old had been without a club since a controversial stint at 1. FC Köln left Germany’s cathedral city side uninterested in renewing his expiring contract last summer.
“Sebastian integrated into the team quickly and seized upon his chance to prove himself from the start,” FCN sporting director Olaf Rebbe remarked in a statement accompanying the news “We are looking forward to six months together and are convinced that he can help us with his way of playing football.”
“It hasn’t been easy for me recently, so I really appreciate the trust placed in me by the coach and the sporting management,” the player himself added, “The team has received me well and I’m now looking forward to the second half of the season in a very strong 2. Bundesliga.”
