Waldemar Anton has extended his contract with VfB Stuttgart until 2027.

VfB Stuttgart have extended the contract of club captain Waldemar Anton until 2027.
The centre-back has been linked with a number of other clubs, but has now decided to commit his long-term future to Stuttgart.
“Waldemar Anton has become a fixture in our back line and a genuine leader and captain both on and off the pitch,” commented VfB Stuttgart sporting director Fabian Wohlgemuth.
“Waldi consistently trains and plays at the highest level and also shows an excellent mentality. We’re delighted that we were able to agree terms on an extension ahead of getting back onto the pitch in the new calendar year.”
Anton commented:
“I can really feel the trust that VfB shows me day in, day out.
“We’re on the same wavelength, so much has fallen into place here, I feel settled and as such, I’m very happy with the contract extension. I’m really looking forward to playing in a VfB jersey for years to come.”
