Premier League side Leeds United have this evening announced the signing of 23-year-old American international Tyler Adams from RB Leipzig for a reported €23 million including bonuses.
Adams comes to England as a replacement for Kalvin Phillips and has signed a five-year contract with LUFC until 2027.
The central-midfielder joined RB Leipzig from New York Red Bulls in January 2019 and went on to play 75 Bundesliga goals. Adams also helped Leipzig lift the DFB Pokal in May, their first major trophy.
Primarily a central-midfielder, Adams can play both as the single-pivot or in a double, whilst he can also provide cover on the right-side and in defence.
Adams has played 71 games under Jesse Marsch during his time in New York and Leipzig, and will now link up with his compatriot at Leeds United.
Leipzig have been relatively quiet this transfer window but pulled off a major coup by extending the contract of 24-year-old France international Christopher Nkunku until 2026.
