Milan have now made first contact to renew the contract of French striker Olivier Giroud.
Giroud played a vital role in Milan’s Scudetto win last season, also scoring in the final game of the campaign to hand the club the league title.
Antonio Vitiello has reported that contact between the Rossoneri and the entourage of the striker has been made to discuss a possible renewal of the contract, which currently expires in the summer of 2023.
He had arrived at the club last summer from Chelsea on a permanent basis for a fee of only €2 million. Since arriving, the Frenchman has scored 14 times in all competitions for Milan and has also racked up four assists.
11 of his goals came in Serie A and he found the back of the net in vital games against Inter, Napoli, Roma and even Lazio to showcase his importance to the side.
