Olympique Lyonnais have confirmed that Jeffinho (24) has been loaned back to Botafogo on a deal that will see the winger at the Brazilian club until the 31st of December 2024.
The Brazilian winger only joined Lyon last January from Botafogo but has failed to adjust to life in France. Apart from flashes of quality in his 21 appearances for the club, the player has struggled in general to make an impact on the team.

Death threats over Jeffinho’s transfer
The reaction from Brazil will surely be more positive than when the player left to move to France. To say fans of Botafogo were unhappy with the transfer of their player would be a mild understatement.
John Textor, who owns the majority shares in both clubs through his holdings company, Eagles Football Holdings, was the recipient of a barrage of death threats from angry supporters of the Brazilian side.
Where Jeffinho will end up beyond the loan spell will have to be seen. Lyon will hope that their player will continue his development back in his homeland, but it is not out of the realm of possibility that this deal could act as the prelude to a more permanent move back to Brazil for the winger.
