Thomas Tuchel has confirmed that Eric Dier is in Munich to finalize his move from Tottenham to Bayern.
Speaking at a press conference on Thursday, the Bayern coach said of the 29-year-old defender:
“He’s in Munich right now, we’re trying to sign him and finalize the deal and get another alternative for our squad. We’ll wait until everything is done because I know from experience that things can fall through at the last minute.
“Eric Dier is a specialist at centre-back. We’re getting him for the centre-back position, he can play right or left centre-back as well as in a back three. He also used to play a lot in midfield.
“We’re signing him to free up Goretzka, so he can play in midfield and doesn’t have to switch to centre-back. As for the other positions, we’ll see what happens,” Tuchel said.
