BILD are reporting that Werder Bremen are interested in signing Servette’s Ivorian forward Chris Bedia as they look to bolster their attacking options should Rafael Borré, currently on loan from Eintracht Frankfurt, leave the club in January.
It was Fabrizio Romano who first reported Bremen’s interest in Bedia, but the Bundesliga side face competition from Bologna and Wolves, all of whom are monitoring the Ivorian’s situation closely with the player’s contract expiring in the summer.
Bedia (27) has scored 16 goals and created three in 29 games across all competitions for Servette this season and according to Transfermarkt, has a market value of €3m. But while Bremen are interested, there has been no concrete discussions, as of yet.
BILD further report that unnamed Bundesliga clubs have shown an interest in Bedia, who remains an alternative to Bologna’s Sydney van Hooijdonk for Bremen, should Borré depart. Should Borré remain at Bremen beyond January, it’s unlikely that the Colombian’s loan will be made permanent in the summer.
