Xabi Alonso has stepped down as manager of Real Sociedad B, the Basque club confirmed on Monday.
The former Real Madrid player was in charge of the club’s B team for the last three years. La Real thanked Alonso for his service in a statement released on Monday evening.
In recent weeks, he has been linked with the managerial position at Club Brugge. Carl Hoefkens has since joined the Belgian side.
