According to Fabrice Hawkins, Marseille are not interested in a move for Rennes midfielder Nemanja Matic (35). This is despite reports linking Les Olympiens with a move for the former Serbian international. The former Manchester United midfielder wants to leave Roazhon Park just 6 months after he completed a move from Roma.
Lyon are interested in a move for Matic in January, according to L’Équipe. Marseille are uninterested in the prospect of signing the former Chelsea defensive midfielder as they deem a potential deal to sign the Rennes midfielder too expensive, according to Hawkins. Despite ending any potential interest in Matic, Gennaro Gattuso would like to sign an experienced midfielder due to injuries and players leaving the club for AFCON.
Lucien Agoumé OM’s priority
OM could recruit more than one midfielder in January. Currently, Inter’s Lucien Agoumé (21) is their priority for midfield reinforcements, Fabrice Hawkins reports. The former Brest midfielder is not getting game time at the Serie A club making a return to Ligue 1 an enticing prospect for the 21-year-old.
