According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, Sergio Reguilón is expected to leave Tottenham on loan again during the January transfer window. The defender spent the first half of the current campaign on loan at Manchester United.
The full-back wants to play regularly and has attracted interest from a number of clubs. As reported by transfer expert David Ornstein, United activated the break clause for Reguilón, who returned to his parent club Tottenham earlier today.
This was a mutual decision made between all parties as the Spaniard wants to play and his minutes would be limited at Old Trafford due to the imminent return of Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia. The player’s entourage was informed about the activation of the break clause today.
During his spell at Old Trafford, Reguilón made 12 appearances, however, the club always intended to send the player back to his parent club as soon as the winter transfer window opened.
Spurs are now considering all loan options due to the significant interest from clubs in the Premier League and La Liga. Borussia Dortmund also added the player to their list of targets back in December.
