The Athletic reports that Manchester United are looking at a low-cost option to play as a backup forward for them in the second half of the season and the Bundesliga is where they are looking.
Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting is one of the options as since the arrival of Harry Kane in the summer and the emergence of Mathys Tel, the 34-year-old’s playing time has drastically decreased and with his contract expiring in the summer a move of any sort will be cheap as Bayern look to move him on. Thomas Mülller is also an option but has recently extended his contract at the club and still plays a key role in the team even if it is off of the bench.
United have also made contact with RB Leipzig over Timo Werner who has struggled for form this season having only scored twice this season. It has been reported that Leipzig would allow the forward to leave on loan to gain playing time and most importantly confidence ahead of Euro 2024 in Germany.
Sehrou Guirassy is also under consideration if United can drum up funds from a sale as his €17.5m release clause is relatively cheap for the current market, whilst they will also get a ready-made striker in the 27-year-old. The one downside is that he will not be available instantly as he will travel to the Africa Cup of Nations with Guinea.
