José María Giménez will be available for Atlético Madrid against Sevilla in La Liga on Saturday, report AS. The Uruguayan is set to come into the defence with both Stefan Savic and Mario Hermoso ruled out through suspension.
Getafe ended Atlético’s run of 20 consecutive wins at the Cívitas Metropolitano with a 3-3 draw in midweek, with Diego Simeone’s team playing for an hour with ten men after Savic was sent off.
Roro Riquelme and Samu Lino are both set to start, with the Madrid native playing on the wing and the Brazilian accompanying Koke and Rodrigo de Paul in midfield. Marcos Llorente – who requested to be substituted against Getafe due to cramp – is set to start the game on the bench.
Up front, Álvaro Morata looks likely to return to the starting lineup alongside Antoine Griezmann. In addition to Savic and Hermoso, Simeone is missing Pablo Barrios and Lemar through injury.
Atlético will be aiming to get back on track and finish 2023 in the best possible way after two consecutive setbacks.
Predicted Atlético Madrid XI vs Sevilla
Oblak – Nahuel Molina, Witsel, Giménez, Azpilicueta, Riquelme – Koke, De Paul, Lino – Griezmann, Morata.
