After Thursday’s Super League verdict pronounced by the European Court of Justice, Barcelona president Joan Laporta expressed his satisfaction with the decision.
The ruling will mean that UEFA and FIFA will no longer be able to block the creation of a potential Super League as they did around two years ago.
Speaking to the media, adapted by Marca, Laporta spoke of his optimism with the project. “FC Barcelona wishes to express its satisfaction with TJUE’s verdict, which endorses the Super League project. As one of the backers of the project, FC Barcelona believes that the ruling will open the way for a new elite competition by deciding against the current monopoly of European football, and wishes to offer suggestions on how the format of the competition.”
