Two of Germany’s most reliable footballing media sources are currently reporting that FC Bayern München midfielders Joshua Kimmich and Leon Goretzka are definite outs for this evening’s fixture against Wolfsburg.

Both Sky Germany and Germany’s Kicker Magazine are currently reporting that Germany’s record champions have opted not to chance it this evening with respect to German internationals Joshua Kimmich and Leon Goretzka. The pair have been struggling with flu-like infections that kept them out of Sunday’s encounter against Stuttgart and were listed as questionable for the team’s final match of the calendar year.
The news almost certainly translates to another start for 19-year-old Aleksandr Pavlovic, who impressed against Stuttgart in FCB trainer Thomas Tuchel’s preferred “holding-six” system. Bayern will be seeking to conclude 2023 on a high note in tonight’s match. After a humiliating defeat away at Frankfurt last weekend, Tuchel’s charges have put together two consecutive clean sheets against worthy opponents Manchester United and Stuttgart.
