DFB confirms two-match ban for Lacroix

VfL Wolfsburg will have to do without defender Maxence Lacroix in their first league encounter of 2024.

Shoulder surgery ends Lacroix’s season

Following his sending off on a straight red against league opponent SV Darmstadt 98 on Saturday, VfL Wolfsburg defender Maxence Lacroix has been handed a two-match suspension by the German FA’s disciplinary committee. The 23-year-old – in addition to having to miss out on this evening’s league fixture against Bayern – will also be unavailable when Wolfsburg travel to Mainz for their first match of the new calendar year on January 13th.

Lacroix has made 14 Bundesliga appearances for Niko Kovac’s Autostädter in the league this year. He’s all stared all three DFB cup matches. The Frenchman has already served one red-card suspension this year, having to sit out the round 11 encounter with Gladbach after being sent off on double yellows the previous week against Bremen.
