Antoine Griezmann has scored his 173rd goal for Atlético Madrid, equalling club legend Luis Aragonés as the club’s all-time top scorer.
The Frenchman netted twice against Getafe in La Liga on Tuesday night, as the club hosted the side from the south of Madrid at the Cívitas Metropolitano.
Griezmann’s 173rd goal in all competitions came from the penalty spot in the 69th minute of the match in the Spanish capital.
Atlético took the lead through Griezmann in the 44th minute of the La Liga meeting before Getafe equalised through striker Borja Mayoral.
Álvaro Morata then put the home side ahead before Griezmann extended Atlético’s lead on the night just five minutes later.
Getafe then came up with two late goals – in the 87th and 93rd minute – to earn a valuable 3-3 draw against Diego Simeone’s side.
Griezmann is now just one goal away from becoming the top goalscorer in the club’s history.
