Bologna beat Juventus in race for Montenegrin sensation Vasilije Adzic

The transfer team at Bologna have beaten out competition from their counterparts at Juventus, in the race for a highly-regarded up-and-coming talent.

That’s according to TuttomercatoWeb, who, on Wednesday, have provided an update on developments surrounding Buducnost Podgorica youngster Vasilije Adzic.

Adzic is a 17-year-old attacking midfielder, who has long piqued attentions across the continent, owing to his performances in his home country of Montenegro.

Despite his tender years, Adzic is already a regular for Podgorica, capped by Montenegro at U19 level, too.

Across the season to date, he has managed 19 appearances in all competitions, racking up an impressive five goals and two assists in the process.

Such production had seen Juventus hotly tipped to land the midfielder, ahead of the January transfer window.

As alluded to above, though, if the latest word stemming from the media is anything to go by, then the Bianconeri look set to miss out.

This comes with Bologna on the verge of closing a deal for Adzic’s signature. It is understood that the Rossoblu have agreed to fork over around €5.5 million to Buducnost Podgorica, who could also secure a 20% sell-on clause.

Juve, on the other hand, offered up €3 million. Adzic is expected to put pen to paper on terms at the Stadio Dall’Ara next month, before linking up with Thiago Motta’s squad next summer.
