Borussia Dortmund are without Emre Can (29) when they host French outfit Paris Saint-Germain at the Signal Iduna Park in the final group stage match of the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday night.
Can is suspended after accumulating three yellow cards in this season’s competition. The likely replacement would be Marcel Sabitzer but speaking to media on Tuesday, Edin Terzić stated that there’s still a question mark regarding the Austrian’s fitness, as well as Marius Wolf.
Should Wolf not be fit enough to start, Niklas Süle would be an option to start at right-back with neither Thomas Meunier or Julian Ryerson in the squad. Felix Nmecha will not play for the remainder of the calendar year but there is some good news for Dortmund fans, with the return of Sébastien Haller.
But Dortmund’s squad is thin. Paris Brunner, who won the U17 World Cup with Germany, will find a place on the bench alongside Karim Adeyemi and Donyell Malen. As well as Ryerson and Nmecha, Terzić is without Youssoufa Moukoko for the remainder of 2023 due to a thigh injury.
Luckily for Dortmund, after a run of three games without a win, they’ve already qualified for the knockout stages.
Predicted Borussia Dortmund XI vs PSG (via Kicker):
Gregor Kobel – Marius Wolf, Mats Hummels, Nico Schlotterbeck, Ramy Bensebaini – Salih Özcan, Marcel Sabitzer – Marco Reus, Julian Brandt, Jamie Bynoe-Gittens – Niclas Füllkrug.
