Sport Bild reports that Werder Bremen and 1.FC Köln are interested in Hertha Berlin forward Fabian Reese who has been one of the driving forces behind the team’s revival in recent weeks.
The 26-year-old only joined Hertha in the summer on a free transfer from Holstein Kiel but if Hertha fails to gain promotion this season Reese may be allowed to leave the club.
Köln and Bremen are two clubs interested in the attacker. Köln had previously shown interest in Reese last summer but he had already agreed to join Hertha with the hope of playing in the Bundesliga, but their relegation meant he had to settle for another season in the 2.Bundesliga.
Regardless of which team, it is expected that Reese will play in the Bundesliga next season.
The 26-year-old was recently key in Hertha progressing to the quarter-finals of the DFB Pokal as he scored twice and assisted the third as Hertha came from behind to draw 3-3 with Hamburg before Reese then scored the winning penalty in the shoot-out.
