Martin Hinteregger is set to stay at Eintracht Frankfurt beyond the summer, according to Bild.
There has been speculation as to whether the 29-year-old could move on in the summer, with Eintracht having strengthened in central defence – Jerome Onguéné’s move from RB Salzburg has already been confirmed, while Hrvoje Smolcic’s switch from HNK Rijeka is expected to be made official in the near future.
But despite the arrival of fresh competition, Hinteregger isn’t going anywhere, per a Bild report, which claims the defender held a meeting with Eintracht coach Oliver Glasner on Tuesday, at which it was agreed that the Austrian centre-back will remain at the club.
Hinteregger’s contract expiers in 2024. He made 37 appearances this season, scoring once.
