According to Sport Bild, seven players could leave Hertha Berlin this summer in order to reduce the squad and provide more transfer funds.
It’s reported that the players who Hertha are looking to move on include Krzysztof Piątek(27), Omar Alderete (25), Dodi Lukebakio (24), Deyovaisio Zeefuik (24), Javairo Dilrosun (24), Santiago Ascacibar (25), and Jordan Torunarigha (24).
On these, Piątek is the highest earner who collects around €4.5m a year.
Last loaned out to Fiorentina, Piatek didn’t impress enough for the club to trigger a €15m option-to-but clause.
Despite this, the Polish international is still open to a move to Italy.
Others including Alderete, Lukebakio, and Torunarigha are likely to leave in the coming weeks.
Having played in Spain last season, Alderete has several La Liga clubs chasing his signature including Sevilla Atletico Madrid, and Villareal.
Lukebakio is wanted by Belgian sides Royal Antwerp and Club Brugge where Torunarigha has been contacted by West Ham United and won’t extend his contract with Hertha.
All of the players that have made the move to Hertha this season have come on free transfers.
In order to start spending, sporting director Fredi Bobic would first have to move on several of their huge 35-man squad.
