Emre Can says Borussia Dortmund need to step up their game after Wednesday’s 2-0 defeat to Stuttgart, which he describes as a “disaster”.
Borussia Dortmund captain Emre Can didn’t mince his words after Wednesday’s 2-0 defeat to VfB Stuttgart in the DFB-Pokal.
The performance was another low point for Dortmund in a season that has seen them produce inconsistent performances.
“We were lacking up front and at the back today. We weren’t strong enough in our tackles and it was a disaster from a footballing point of view. It can’t go on like this,” Can told ZDF after the game.
“We are Dortmund, we have to do better. We have to sit down together and analyze it.
Next up for Can and Dortmund is Saturday’s game against RB Leipzig in the Bundesliga, where they are fifth.
