Qatar Islamic Bank interested in Inter takeover

According to Il Giornale (via Calciomercato) the Qatar Islamic Bank are interested in taking over Serie A giants Inter.

Jassim Bin Hamad Al Thani (a namesake of the owner of Paris Saint Germain) is the president of the bank. In recent months, he had failed in an offer of €6 billion to buy Manchester United.

The Zhang family, current owners of Inter, seemingly have no desire to sell the club but they may be tempted by a huge offer from the bank.

Inter would be a shrewd investment for any owners currently. Over the last three years they have established themselves clearly as the best team in Italy, picking up the mantle from Juventus.

In 2023, Inter’s enterprise value amounted to 1.258 billion euros, representing a 26 percent increase on the previous year. These stats are according to Statista and show the healthy state that the Nerazzurri are currently in.

The Zhang family has to pay back US-based Oaktree fund a loan of €350 million by the end of May and they’re unable to do so, a certain percentage of the club could be in control of Oaktree.
