Bayern Munich and Alphonso Davies have reportedly recently resumed talks about extending his contract beyond 2025.
According to Bild, Davies’ salary is the sticking point in the negotiations.
When Bayern came close to extending the left-back’s contract earlier this year, then board member for sport Hasan Salihamidzic agreed a salary of €12 million per year with the player and his agent.
However, talks were put on hold when Salihamidzic was dismissed, and Bild reports that Davies is now demanding a significantly higher salary than before.
Should the parties fail to reach an agreement, Davies could be free to leave in the summer of 2024, when he has just one year left on his contract.
Real Madrid are said to be interested in the 23-year-old, who has been playing for Bayern since January 2019.
