Soungoutou Magassa could drop to the bench after a difficult day at the Parc des Princes last weekend. Denis Zakaria could take his place in the defence for AS Monaco, or Adi Hütter could opt for a formation change for the first time since taking charge of the club in the summer.
With Mohammed Salisu likely not fit enough to start against Montpellier HSC at the Stade Louis II on Sunday. Hütter has a decision to make. Whilst he could opt to drop Zakaria back into the defence, as he did at times at the start of the season, he could change shape altogether and switch from a 3-4-3 to a 4-4-2. Should he make the choice to do so, Folarin Balogun and Wissam Ben Yedder could start alongside each other up front.
There are no fresh injury concerns for Monaco, who are still without long-term absentees Caio Henrique, Breel Embolo and Eliesse Ben Seghir. The latter is expected to return early in 2024. Myron Boadu is still out with a quadriceps injury.
Monaco likely lineup v Montpellier
Philipp Köhn; Denis Zakaria, Guillermo Maripán. Wilfried Singo; Ismail Jakobs, Mohamed Camara, Youssouf Fofana, Vanderson; Aleksandr Golovin, Wissam Ben Yedder, Takumi Minamino.
