LaLiga matchday 15 preview – Predicted lineups & win probabilities

Friday 1st December 2023
21:00 – Las Palmas vs Getafe
| Las Palmas | Getafe | |
| Win Probability | 40% | 29% |
This is a real contrast of styles to kick things off with Las Palmas boasting the 2nd highest possession figures in LaLiga this season and Getafe the 2nd lowest. The visitors are higher in the league though and most likely heading for the better season. Mason Greenwood is now established as a regular in this side and is fresh from a cracking goal last time out playing on the left of a front three that involves in-form Borja Mayoral and one other with a number of candidates for the right sided role.
Predicted Las Palmas Lineup: Valles – Cardona, Marmol, Saul Coco, Alex Suarez – Kirian Rodriguez, Perrone, Munoz – Moleiro, Munir, Marvin (4-3-3)
Coach: Garcia Pimienta
Predicted Getafe Lineup: Soria – Rico, Gaston, Alderete, Damian Suarez – Milla, Djene, Maksimovic – Greenwood, Mayoral, Oscar (4-3-3)
Coach: Jose Bordalas

Saturday 2nd December 2023
14:00 – Girona vs Valencia
| Girona | Valencia | |
| Win Probability | 57% | 19% |
Girona dropped points on Monday to slip to 2nd in LaLiga behind Real Madrid and they’ll be hungry for a win here with a big trip to Barcelona next weekend. They have a doubt over striker Artem Doybyk which could see Cristhian Stuani start. Valencia also have a major injury doubt with Jose Gaya carrying a knock which could see teenager Yarek Gasiorowski get the nod at left back.
Predicted Girona Lineup: Gazzaniga – Miguel, Blind, Eric Garcia, Arnau Martinez – Aleix Garcia, Herrera – Savio, Ivan Martin, Tsygankov – Stuani (4-2-3-1)
Coach: Michel
Predicted Valencia Lineup: Mamardashvili – Yarek, Gabriel, Mosquera, Correia – Pepelu, Diakhaby, Guerra – Diego Lopez, Duro, Fran Perez (4-3-3)
Coach: Ruben Baraja
16:15 – Athletic Club vs Rayo Vallecano
| Athletic Club | Rayo Vallecano | |
| Win Probability | 60% | 17% |
These two clubs have quite a friendly relationship and they play quite a similar style of football in some respects. Athletic are firing in the final third but are still missing Yeray and Dani Garcia to injury while Rayo Vallecano still can’t seem to get any of their strikers to score goals which is hampering them. Rayo have central defensive issues ahead of this game with Aridane Hernandez and Abdul Mumin both carrying knocks.
Predicted Athletic Club Lineup: Simon – Lekue, Paredes, Vivian, De Marcos – Vesga, Ruiz de Galarreta – Nico Williams, Sancet, Iñaki Williams – Guruzeta (4-2-3-1)
Coach: Ernesto Valverde
Predicted Rayo Vallecano Lineup: Dimitrievski – Espino, Mumin, Lejeune, Balliu – Ciss, Valentin – Alvaro Garcia, Unai Lopez, Isi Palazon – Camello (4-2-3-1)
Coach: Francisco
18:30 – Real Madrid vs Granada
| Real Madrid | Granada | |
| Win Probability | 83% | 6% |
Real Madrid have a host of injured players but they’re still scoring freely and winning football matches. A repeat should be likely here against LaLiga’s second worst defence. Granada sacked Paco Lopez after losing 3-1 at Alaves last time out so it’s anyone’s guess how they’ll line up at the Bernabeu under new boss Alexander Medina.
Predicted Real Madrid Lineup: Lunin – Fran Garcia, Alaba, Nacho, Carvajal – Bellingham, Kroos, Ceballos, Valverde – Joselu, Rodrygo (4-4-2)
Coach: Carlo Ancelotti
Predicted Granada Lineup: Ferreira – Neva, Miquel, Torrente, Manafa – Gumbau, Villar – Alvaro Fernandez, Uzuni, Bryan Zaragoza – Boye (4-2-3-1)
Coach: Alexander Medina
21:00 – Osasuna vs Real Sociedad
| Osasuna | Real Sociedad | |
| Win Probability | 30% | 41% |
Osasuna are not enjoying a great season and there’s not really an obvious reason for that, other than to say they perhaps slightly over-achieved last term by finishing 7th. They host a maturing Real Sociedad side that rested the likes of Robin Le Normand and Mikel Merino in midweek with Champions League qualification already secured. Take Kubo was also only used off the bench so we can expect a very strong eleven from the visitors here.
Predicted Osasuna Lineup: Herrera – Mojica, David Garcia, Catena, Areso – Torro, Moncayola, Aimar Oroz – Moi Gomez, Budimir, Avila (4-3-3)
Coach: Jagoba Arrasate
Predicted Real Sociedad Lineup: Remiro – Aihen, Le Normand, Pacheco, Traore – Merino, Zubimendi, Brais Mendez – Barrenetxea, Oyarzabal, Kubo (4-3-3)
Coach: Imanol Alguacil

Sunday 3rd December 2023
14:00 – Mallorca vs Alaves
| Mallorca | Alaves | |
| Win Probability | 40% | 29% |
Mallorca played in midweek but could only draw at home to Cadiz and they are another side that is struggling to replicate their successful 2022/23 season. Vedat Muriqi’s continued injury absence doesn’t help matters and they could really do with Cyle Larin finding his shooting boots after a slow start to life in Palma. Alaves provide the opposition with few changes expected after an impressive win over Granada last time out.
Predicted Mallorca Lineup: Rajkovic – Nastacic, Copete, Valjent – Costa, Darder, Samu, Antonio Sanchez, Maffeo – Larin, Abdon (3-5-2)
Coach: Javier Aguirre
Predicted Alaves Lineup: Sivera – Javi Lopez, Abqar, Marin, Gorosabel – Blanco, Guevara – Rioja, Guridi, Rebbach – Omorodion (4-2-3-1)
Coach: Luis Garcia
16:15 – Almeria vs Real Betis
| Almeria | Real Betis | |
| Win Probability | 29% | 45% |
Almeria are yet to pick up a point under Gaizka Garitano and they already look like something of a lost cause. The former Eibar boss may consider changes in various positions here in a bid to try to spark some life into their season but it won’t be easy against a Betis side that rested key men in the Europa League and will name a stronger eleven this weekend.
Predicted Almeria Lineup: Maximiano – Akieme, Edgar, Chumi, Pozo – Robertone, Baba – Lazaro, Arribas, Ramazani – Baptistao (4-2-3-1)
Coach: Gaizka Garitano
Predicted Real Betis Lineup: Rui Silva – Miranda, Riad, Pezzella, Bellerin – Carvalho, Guido Rodriguez – Ayoze Perez, Isco, Luiz Henrique – Willian Jose (4-2-3-1)
Coach: Manuel Pellegrini
18:30 – Sevilla vs Villarreal
| Sevilla | Villarreal | |
| Win Probability | 42% | 32% |
Sevilla’s Diego Alonso is another winless LaLiga coach under big pressure and he can ill afford a defeat here after his side collapsed in the Second Half to lose 3-2 at home to PSV and exit the Champions League in midweek. Villarreal have made a bright start under recently appointed Marcelino and will fancy their chances with Jose Luis Morales set to keep his place up front after a hat-trick last weekend. The hosts are missing both Sergio Ramos and Jesus Navas to suspension.
Predicted Sevilla Lineup: Dmitrovic – Acuna, Gudelj, Nianzou, Juanlu – Fernando, Sow – Lukebakio, Rakitic, Ocampos – En Nesyri (4-2-3-1)
Coach: Diego Alonso
Predicted Villarreal Lineup: Jorgensen – Pedraza, Cuenca, Albiol, Foyth – Baena, Capoue, Parejo, Altimira – Gerard Moreno, Morales (4-4-2)
Coach: Marcelino
21:00 – Barcelona vs Atletico Madrid
| Barcelona | Atletico Madrid | |
| Win Probability | 50% | 24% |
This is the big one as what has been quite an unconvincing Barcelona side of late, play host to an increasingly impressive Atletico Madrid. Diego Simeone has never won away to Barca as Atleti boss though but this may be one of his best shots at that with a solid first eleven emerging with Mario Hermoso and Axel Witsel playing well and looking like more dependable defensive options than they were last term.
Xavi meanwhile has more questions than answers right now, but despite some poor displays, results have not been dreadful and they secured Champions league qualification in midweek. Barca could be at full strength here, with the exception of the injured Gavi, assuming Marc-Andre ter Stegen can win his race to be fit but their best eleven right now is certainly up for debate.
Predicted Barcelona Lineup: Ter Stegen – Balde, Martinez, Araujo, Kounde – Gundogan, De Jong, Pedri – Felix, Lewandowski, Cancelo (4-3-3)
Coach: Xavi
Predicted Atletico Madrid Lineup: Oblak – Hermoso, Witsel, Gimenez – Lino, Llorente, Koke, De Paul, Moilina – Griezmann, Morata (3-5-2)
Coach: Diego Simeone

Monday 4th December 2023
21:00 – Celta Vigo vs Cadiz
| Celta Vigo | Cadiz | |
| Win Probability | 60% | 16% |
Celta Vigo have still only won one match under Rafa Benitez but their performances have warranted more points and they’ll see this as a good chance to record a second win here. There are no fresh selection issues for the hosts, while Cadiz have a number of concerns, including Jeremias Ledesma whose potential absence could see David Gil start a second consecutive league game in goal.
Predicted Celta Vigo Lineup: Guaita – Manu Sanchez, Nuñez, Starfelt, Kevin – Bamba, De La Torre, Beltran, Mingueza – Aspas, Larsen (4-4-2)
Coach: Rafa Benitez
Predicted Cadiz Lineup: Gil – Javi Hernandez, Momo, Fali, Zaldua – Machis, Alcaraz, Alex Fernandez, Alejo – Ramos, Roger Marti (4-4-2)
Coach: Sergio
