As revealed by German transfer insider Florian Plettenberg, Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich are ‘very interested’ in bringing Barcelona defender Ronald Araújo to the club for next season.
This comes on the back of an extensive scouting mission, spanning over two years.
Thomas Tuchel, for his part, has now also been convinced of the Uruguay international’s qualities, making a proposal on the part of the Bavarians all the more likely.
Not only that but it is even claimed that Araújo himself is ‘keen’ on the prospect of a future move to the Allianz Arena.
And yet, Bayern actually striking a deal with their counterparts at the Camp Nou looks altogether unlikely.
Araújo is viewed as an absolutely integral part of Xavi’s Barcelona side, with the Catalans already working towards extending the 24-year-old’s contract beyond the summer of 2026.
