Paco López has been sacked as head coach of Granada with the team currently 19th in La Liga with just seven points from fourteen games.
The decision to dismiss López was made after the side’s 3-1 loss to fellow strugglers Deportivo Alavés on Friday night, and the team from Andalusia have now gone 11 games without a victory.
As reported by Relevo, López will be replaced by Uruguayan head coach Alexander Medina. Medina – currently without a club – will take charge of Granada as they look to move away from the relegation places.
Gabi Milito had been the main candidate for the role, however, Granada failed to reach an agreement with the former Argentine player.
As a player, Medina, 45, had a stint with current La Liga side Cádiz. His last managerial role was at Argentine club Vélez Sarsfield.
