According to Sky Germany, Freiburg are in advanced negotiations to sign Michael Gregoritsch.
The 28-year-old is entering the final year of his deal and is unwilling to extend his contract beyond 2023 with Augsburg. A sale this summer is likely as it’s a final opportunity for FCA to collect a transfer fee for the attacker.
Per Kicker, Augsburg want a fee in the mid, one-digit million range. Negotiations between the two clubs are ongoing for Gregoritsch, would be the second forward to join Freiburg after the signing of Daniel-Kofi Kyereh.
The Austria international scored nine in 25 Bundesliga games for Augsburg last season as they fought against relegation. A move to Freiburg would give Gregoritsch the opportunity to play European football.
Since joining FCA in 2017 for €5.5m for Hamburg, the 193cm tall attacker has scored 31 and created eight in 129 games in all competitions.
Freiburg have been relatively quiet this summer but have recruited well in signing Matthias Ginter on a free transfer from Borussia Mönchengladbach, and Kyereh from St. Pauli for €4.5m.
