Schalke’s teenage sensation Assan Ouédraogo (17) has attracted attention from some of Germany’s biggest clubs. According to Bild’s Bayern Insider Podcast, RB Leipzig are leading the race to sign the German youth international, but Bayern Munich are also showing a significant interest in bringing the teenager to the Allianz Arena.
Ouédraogo has played 11 league games for Schalke this season, resulting in two goal contributions (one goal and one assist) and also represented Germany at the U17 World Cup, but he was injured in the second game and returned to Schalke.
But not only has Ouédraogo’s performances attracted interest from Germany, Milan and Inter have also entered the race to sign the German midfielder. He will sign a professional contract on May 9 2024 – on his 18th birthday – which ties him to the club until 2027. However, this does include an exit clause.
As reported earlier, the price for Bayern Munich is between €12m and €15m but foreign clubs would have to table an offer of €20m to sign Ouédraogo. A departure in January is likely off the table, but expect interest in the German to be high come the summer transfer period.
