According to AS, the contract renewal negotiations between Real Betis and Isco have suffered a serious setback with the player’s side dismissing reports that they are close to an agreement.
Isco and his agent have been left infuriated by the amount of leaks that have come out from the club in recent weeks regarding the negotiations.
Pedro Bravo, the player’s agent, reveals that he did not like Betis’ approach when it came to airing the negotiation.
He said: “It has been published that he had some fixed and some variables, that there were 25 games, they have even talked about the termination clause. To me, all this has seemed a bit surreal and I have already told Betis.
“If we have not said it, it is logical that it is Betis who has leaked some conditions. We are no closer. They made an approach that we have studied and now is the time for us to present a counter-offer.”
The 31-year-old has returned to his best form since he joined the club in the summer, with three goals and three assists in all competitions.
Betis want to reward Isco with a renewal with the aim of keeping him at the club until 2026, however, negotiations are nowhere near completion.
