Atlético Madrid forward Antoine Griezmann has, late on Sunday, dropped a major hint over his future with the club.
After putting six past Celtic in the Champions League in midweek, the Rojiblancos turned their attentions back towards matters on the domestic front, welcoming Villarreal to Spain’s capital for a La Liga clash.
Atléti’s fine form continued, en route to an eventual 3-1 triumph. Griezmann bagged his side’s second of the night, capping another fine individual performance.
Not only that, but, in the process, the Frenchman etched his name into the history books once more, establishing himself as the joint-second top goalscorer in the club’s storied history.
And Griezmann, evidently, has no intention of letting up in his goalscoring endeavours at the Metropolitano any time soon.
Speaking to Movistar on the back of the full-time whistle tonight, the 32-year-old made use of the opportunity to confirm his intention to put pen to paper on a new contract with Atlético.
“[I’m] very happy with Simeone’s renewal,“ he began. “Now, I believe it’s my turn!”
