With a 1-0 win against Qarabağ FK on Thursday night, Bayer Leverkusen won their 11th consecutive game across all competitions which sets a new club record for a single season since the Bundesliga was founded in 1963, report Opta.
Victor Boniface scored his 11th goal in all competitions to secure a win for Die Werkself in the fourth minute of stoppage time after the Nigerian converted his penalty. It means that B04’s 100 percent start to this season’s Europa League remains intact with the Bundesliga side topping Group H with four wins in four- scoring 12 and conceding two.
But not only is that Bayer Leverkusen’s 11th consecutive win across all competitions, they also remain undefeated this season, going 16 games (15 wins and one draw) without defeat. They host Union Berlin who come to the BayArena after picking up an impressive point against Napoli.
Leverkusen’s form this season is down to Xabi Alonso. The Spaniard replaced Gerardo Seoane last season and against the odds, secured European football. With impressive recruitment and a refreshing brand of football in Germany, Alonso’s Leverkusen side top the Bundesliga.
