A head-turning statistic surrounding the stellar early-season form of Atlético Madrid pair Álvaro Morata and Antoine Griezmann has come to the fore on Wednesday.
Morata and Griezmann, of course, took their respective places front and centre in the headlines last night.
This came as both notched doubles, en route to a 6-0 Champions League drubbing of Scottish giants Celtic.
Morata, for his part, has now found the net on 12 occasions across all competitions this season, with Griezmann one behind on 11.
And such elite production, as alluded to above, has in turn given rise to an altogether noteworthy statistic.
As revealed by Opta, Atlético’s rampant front two have beaten out competition from across the continent, to establish the Rojiblancos as the only club in the top five leagues boasting two players with 10 or more goals across the campaign to date.
Both Morata and Griezmann will be keen to add further to their respective tallies this weekend, when Diego Simeone’s side turn their attentions back towards matters on the domestic front, in a La Liga meeting with Villarreal.
