A defeat against Stuttgart on Tuesday could lead to the sacking of Urs Fischer as Union Berlin coach, according to Bild.

Bild reports that Urs Fischer could lose his job as Union Berlin coach if Die Eisernen lose to VfB Stuttgart in the DFB-Pokal on Tuesday.

The German capital club suffered their tenth consecutive defeat over the weekend, losing 2-0 away to Werder Bremen.

The club’s sporting director, Oliver Ruhnert, backed Fischer to take charge against Stuttgart.

However, should Union lose to Stuttgart, a sacking is “no longer out of the question,” according to Bild.

After finishing fourth and qualifying for the Champions League last season, Fischer’s team are currently in 15th place, just one point above the relegation zone.
