Maximilian Philipp and Roland Sallai may not be able to play again this year, according to Freiburg coach Christian Streich.

Freiburg coach Christian Streich gave a bleak update on injured duo Maximilian Philipp (shoulder) and Roland Sallai (muscle) on Sunday.

Speaking to Bild, Streich revealed that both players could be out until after Christmas.

“The two are out for the time being,” Streich said, adding:

“Four, five, six, seven weeks. Normally, they won’t be back before Christmas.”

Philipp and Sallai were forced off during Freiburg’s 3-1 win over Backa Topola in the Europa League last week.
