As reported by Lyon Mag and relayed by L’Équipe, Olympique Lyonnais centre-back Dejan Lovren (34) was the victim of an attempted robbery.
The attempted robbery reportedly took place whilst Lovren was featuring for Lyon against Clermont Foot. Les Gones slumped to yet another defeat at the Groupama Stadium on Sunday. Clermont Foot went into the tie bottom of the league, and following a 2-1 defeat, OL are now bottom of Ligue 1. Lovren and Lyon are therefore currently embroiled in a battle for survival in France’s top flight.
According to Lyon Mag, former Liverpool defender Lovren returned to home to find that the door of his apartment had been forced. However, the robbers did not manage to enter the Croatian international’s accommodation, located in Caluire-et-Cuire, in the south of the Rhône city. The police, who were called out to inspect the scene, have opened an enquiry into the events on Sunday night.
