Bayer Leverkusen coach Xabi Alonso has revealed that Patrik Schick could be in line for a return to the squad for Saturday’s clash with Wolfsburg.

Patrik Schick is in contention to make Bayer Leverkusen’s squad for Saturday’s Bundesliga clash with Wolfsburg.

The Czech international, who has been sidelined since March with an adductor injury, is finally close to returning to action, Leverkusen coach Xabi Alonso confirmed at a press conference on Friday.

“It is realistic that he could be here tomorrow,” Xabi Alonso told reporters.

“He’s been back in almost full training for the last two weeks, we’ll decide the squad today.

“It’s great for the team to have him back, we need his goals, his quality and his personality.”

Schick has found the net 41 times in 90 games for Leverkusen after joining from RB Leipzig in 2020.
