Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg reports that FC Bayern München are considering signing Greek veteran Sokratis Papastathopoulos in their quest for some additional help in central defense.

Having decided against bringing in former star Jerome Boateng to help shore up the central defensive ranks, FC Bayern München are – according to Florian Plettenberg of Sky Germany – still considering bringing a veteran free-agent defender in on a free. Plettenberg reports that former Werder Bremen and Borussia Dortmund center back is under consideration.
The 25-year-old 90-times-capped Greek international has been without a club since his contract with Olympiacos Piraeus lapsed over the summer. Plettenberg claims that Sokratis – as he is colloquially known – is keen to join the German record champions as has rejected concrete interest from Real Betis Balompié in order to potentially sign with the FCB.
