Götze’s first impressions of Frankfurt: “I’m very happy”

Mario Götze has opened up on his first impressions of Eintracht Frankfurt following his transfer from PSV.

“The first training session went very, very well. The conditions were great – nice weather, the training ground was good and the fans were there. I’m very happy and am now looking forward to making Frankfurt the focal point in my life,” Götze told the media at a press conference.

Asked about the huge interest in him, the German World Cup winner said:

“I see it as a show of appreciation. That’s a positive thing, but for me the focus is on the club and our competitions. What’s happened is all well and good, but the focus is on the here and now.”
