In an interview with BR24 on Sunday, Bayern Munich honorary president and supervisory board member Uli Hoeness revealed the exact price paid for Harry Kane and commented on the dismissals of Julian Nagelsmann and Oliver Kahn.

It’s been reported that Bayern had to put €100 million on the table to prise Kane away from Tottenham and that the fee could potentially rise to €120 million.

However, according to Hoeness, Bayern paid less for the England captain.

“We only spent €95 million,” he insisted in the interview with BR24.

Asked about the decision to relieve Oliver Kahn of his duties as Bayern CEO at the end of last season, Hoeness admitted that, in retrospect, it was a mistake to give him the job in the first place.

“Appointing Oliver Kahn as CEO was a big mistake. When I realized he couldn’t do it, I changed that with Karl-Heinz Rummenigge,” Hoeness said.

One key decision Kahn was involved in was the sacking of Julian Nagelsmann as coach in March. Hoeness now hints that he wouldn’t have done the same.

“I didn’t replace the coach. The club replaced the coach, which wasn’t necessarily wise,” he said.
